WALYALUP | FREMANTLE, WA
Part of the broader King’s Square renewal project, the Walyalup Civic Centre is designed to bring civic life back to the heart of Fremantle.
The project includes the offices of the City of Fremantle Council, the Fremantle Library and a visitor centre with meeting rooms, galleries and exhibition spaces for public use. Incorporating the iconic Fremantle Town Hall and surrounds, it reimagines the space with a contemporary design and industry-leading sustainability and urban planning practices. Importantly, the Walyalup Civic Centre is designed to embrace not only the location’s importance as a historic town centre, but also its thousands of years of Indigenous history.
