Walyalup Koort + FOMO Freo

WALYALUP | FREMANTLE, WA

Walyalup Koort + FOMO Freo

The flagship project in the renaissance of Fremantle, the Walyalup Koort (formerly Kings Square) redevelopment is the largest public-private infrastructure project in the city’s history.

The new Walyalup Koort incorporates 20,800 sqm of WA State Government office space and 5,500 sqm for the FOMO retail precinct. Reinvigorating retail spaces is one of the key challenges of urban renewal, and the success of FOMO – designed around experiential attractions rather than standard retail – will set a new benchmark. The project also involved an upgrade of the adjacent 840-bay Queensgate carpark, including a 2,000 sqm mural “Together” by internationally renowned artist Morag Myerscough.
