As the heart of Western Australia’s creative scene, Fremantle is once again preparing to host Fremantle Design Week, a celebration that transforms the port city into a hub of creativity, innovation, and design excellence.

Demonstrating our continued investment in Fremantle, we are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of this event, marking our second year of support. This year’s festival, themed ‘transition’, promises to push boundaries and inspire fresh perspectives for a healthy and positive future.

The festival will feature over 50 design-inspired events, including exhibitions, workshops, conversations, and more. The program is a testament to Fremantle’s dynamic local talent while also welcoming global voices to the conversation.

Presented by Sirona Urban, this year’s Designing Cities Symposium welcomes Ross Harding, founder of Finding Infinity and ‘A New Normal’: a project envisioned to spark change amongst developers and architects to shift cities from energy users to energy producers. This event showcases an afternoon of studies, design, technology and a panel that explores the barriers and levers to creating a new normal in our cities. In addition to State Government architect, Emma Williamson, our managing director, Matthew McNeilly, will join to discuss the critical challenges and opportunities around development, particularly in a post-COVID world.

The Symposium promises to be a thought-provoking experience, bringing together leaders in design and architecture to share insights and explore solutions that could shape the future of our urban environments. With a focus on actionable ideas and collaborative thinking, this event underscores the belief that design is a powerful tool for change.

Fremantle Design Week 2024 is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of creativity that invites everyone – from seasoned professionals to curious newcomers – to engage, learn, and be inspired. From the groundbreaking Planetary Transition exhibition by LA-based visionary Liam Young to the hands-on children’s workshops led by emerging Noongar artist Daryl Dempster, the week-long festival offers something for everyone.

We invite you to join us in Fremantle this October to experience first-hand the transformative power of design.
